Much of what is written about the pandemic is anecdotal: i.e., the guy who criticized masks on the Zoom call was hospitalized and died. Anecdotal circumstances are not evidence unless backed by statistics. They are inadmissible in court and are not cited in peer reviewed scientific journals. Beware: Without statistics anecdotes can represent anomalies. It is how you sell, for instance, snake oil.
