On March 30, the U.S. military, in coordination with allies in El Salvador, successfully transferred 17 violent criminals from the Tren de Aragua and MS-13 gangs, including murderers and rapists. To protect Americans, the Tren de Aragua and MS-13 have been designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations. The U.S. expressed gratitude to El Salvador for its strong partnership in fighting transnational crime and terrorism.
