Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), is facing renewed scrutiny over his agency’s role in funding controversial coronavirus research at CCP’s Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) between 2015 and 2019. Public records show that nearly $600,000 in U.S. taxpayer money was funneled through EcoHealth Alliance to support gain-of-function experiments on bat coronaviruses—research designed to make viruses more infectious to humans.
While Fauci has repeatedly denied supporting gain-of-function work or the possibility of a lab-origin for COVID-19, critics argue that his approval of funding for these risky experiments goes far beyond routine oversight and may have played a direct role in the pandemic's emergence.
The controversy deepened with revelations that key public health figures, including Fauci, stood to gain influence and profit from pre-developed vaccines and emergency mandates. Allegations also suggest efforts to suppress the lab-leak theory and coordinate narratives with CCP officials to downplay WIV’s potential involvement. As investigations continue, Fauci’s role at the intersection of science, funding, and pandemic politics remains under intense global scrutiny.

Iowa lawmakers are debating Senate File 394, a bill aimed at shielding Bayer AG from lawsuits over its herbicide Roundup, which contains the controversial chemical glyphosate. If Bayer ceases U.S. sales amid mounting lawsuits and mixed scientific opinions about glyphosate’s safety, American farmers could become reliant on glyphosate made in Communist China. Communist China, which produces about half of the global supply, has been accused of undercutting U.S. prices to destabilize domestic producers.
Opposition to the bill is fueled by environmental groups with deep ties to Communist China. The Iowa Environmental Council, which assigned seven lobbyists against SF 394, has long received significant funding from the Energy Foundation — a nonprofit closely linked to the Chinese Communist Party. Even after its 2020 split into Energy Foundation China and the U.S. Energy Foundation, close ties remained, with shared offices until 2022 and former CCP officials, including Ji Zou and Hongjun Zhang, holding senior roles. From 2015 to 2023, the Energy Foundation channeled millions into U.S. environmental groups, including over $500,000 annually in multiple years to the Iowa Environmental Council and millions to the Environmental Law and Policy Center, which also opposes SF 394.
Critics warn that this financial influence serves Beijing’s strategic interests, potentially increasing U.S. dependence on Communist Chinese agrochemicals. Former U.S. ambassador Kip Tom emphasized national security risks, noting Communist China’s leverage could grow in times of geopolitical conflict, especially if the U.S. becomes reliant on Communist Chinese glyphosate.
