I'm back on the job today. Nearly 4 months ago, GNB took my job away because I chose to remain at one dose (for legitimate reasons). They did this even though I had recently recovered from Covid.

1. Media follow their financial incentive to worry and divide people. 2. Worried people petition their gov. to save them. 3. Govs. do typical poor cost-benefit analysis and make things worse. 4. Increasingly divided people are ok with increasingly cruel measures against others. 5. Governments exaggerate the danger to justify policy moves they've already taken. 6. This further worries people and feeds back into the cycle. That's my interpretive frame for what we all just watched.

It's the job of our premiers to ensure that healthcare is able to meet demand. If demand is going to be higher, they need to bolster. Taking away our basic freedoms every winter isn't an option.

I've made a lot of friends on here based on shared disdain for Canada's response to [major world event] Now that [major world event] has passed, prepare to get respected *so hard* when we disagree on other topics.
🧵1/ A compromised immune system is a rough hand to be dealt, but that's always been the case. Framing the necessity of restrictions around these conditions would mean *never-ending* restrictions. Clinging to V-passes for the sake of immunocompromised people would also be misguided.
