According to Sina Finance, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) held the 51st meeting of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) in Washington, D.C., from April 24 to 25. The meeting emphasized the need to strengthen the IMF’s resources and representation, urging swift completion of the 16th General Review of Quotas.

People's Bank of China(CCP) Governor Pan Gongsheng and Deputy Governor Xuan Changneng attended the meeting. In his remarks, Pan warned of mounting downside risks to the global economy and criticized U.S. tariffs for disrupting economic order. He called for enhanced multilateral cooperation and support for trade liberalization, reiterating China’s commitment to the IMF. Pan also urged the Fund to accelerate quota reforms to better reflect the role of emerging markets.
