The country is going down the toilet but MPs are going to get a pay rise most of theit fellow countrymen & women can only dream of. MPs should have a basic pay based on average earnings BUT big perfomances related bonuses on hitting targets. For example: * High employment figures * Low inflation figures * Rising per capita share of GDP (ie people actually getting wealthier) * Reducing homelesness figures * Stopping uncontrolled immigration * Etc I am sure you can think of a lot more targets for MP to work for.
