It’s worth remembering that there’s no such thing as a level playing field when it comes to the political right and left. Because of its “live and let live” nature, the right, unwilling to impose itself on the sovereignty of another individual, operates from a deficit against the authoritarian. Historically, the libertarian plays offense to secure liberty and then plays defense trying to maintain it, until forced to rise up yet again and redistribute power away from those attempting to consolidate it. Wash, rinse, repeat.
