With Gallagher gone, R’s will be down to a 217-213 majority. Election for Brian Higgins’s seat is April 30, adding another D seat, moving by D’s to 214. Election for Kevin McCarthy’s seat is May 21, adding an R. Election for Bill Johnson’s seat is June 11, adding an R. After those three special elections R’s will have a 219-214 majority. It’s close, but not as bad as it seems. No excuses.
