Several years ago, I had the chance to pay this brave Green Beret, SFC Martin Acosta, a visit at Walter Reed Hospital after he was severely injured in Afghanistan. Upon being medically retired from the 7th Special Forces Group, he applied for a housing modification with the Department of Veteran Affairs. Since 2021, SFC Acosta & his family have campaigned for housing modifications to assist him in his return to civilian life but have faced obstacles along the way. He & his family contacted my office for assistance in navigating this challenging VA procedure. After 6 months, I am pleased to announce that SFC Martin Acosta was finally approved this week. He can now be at peace knowing we stand behind him to ensure he & his family are taken care of in his time of need.
