Asymptomatic carrier took Covid19 to Japan from Wuhan in January 2020. Full genomic sequencing of the cultured virus showed only 3 point mutations out of 29,903 bases compared to the original reference sequence (that is 99.9899676 % match), which is very high fidelity copying after multiple passages through an unknown number of Humans. Contains lovely images of 100 nm virions. @BreadMaker @RealScientist @openvaet https://www.jstage.jst.go.jp/article/yoken/73/4/73_JJID.2020.137/_article

Asymptomatic carriers spread the disease and were never identified as they spread the virus to all parts of the globe. Contact tracing was slow to start. Breathing/sneezing on each other is of course the major transmission method. The exhaled virus sits on surfaces, is stable for days, lasts longer on fatty foods, is picked up and spread by hand to face contact. Virus is exhaled at normal speech levels. Faecal to mouth infection is known.
